Each month we invite a debut novelist to read from and talk about their work in an informal setting. Topics of discussion include theme, structure, inspiration and the craft of writing. These sessions are a great way to discover new writing talent and great books.

Candice Carty-Williams offers a darkly comic and unflinchingly raw depiction of a young woman trying to navigate her way in the world. Queenie is about identity, independence and carving your own path. For fans of Dolly Alderton, Bryony Gordon and Dawn O’Porter, and anyone who loved Fleabag and Dear White People.

Inspirational . . . written by a new and exciting young woman, it’s articulate, brave and ‘woke’. Funny, wise, and of the moment.
