Sun 30 June 2019,

Over the last 20 years the Caine Prize for African Writing has had a significant impact on Africa’s literary production.  Each year the Caine Prize hosts shortlisted writers for events in London, but this year sees shortlisted writers coming to Bristol for the first time! Join Nigerian writer Lesley Nneka Arimah and Kenyan writer Cherrie Kandie from the 2019 Caine Prize shortlist as they talk to Nikesh Shukla to talk about their writing, getting published and the impact of this writing prize.

Africa Writes – Bristol 2019 is brought to you by the Royal African Society and Saseni!, and supported by Arts Council England, the Bristol Cultural Development Partnership, University of Bristol and University of Exeter.
