When we run a special project that focuses on a book we offer copies to HMP Bristol so that people there can also join in. Last year we had a group reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X. This year, a group has been reading Frankenstein. We’re very grateful for the involvement of HMP Bristol in the project and especially for the short essays that were written in response to the novel, which can be read here. As you can see, the book prompted a strong reaction from those who read it, especially in terms of debating and deciding who is the actual monster – Dr Frankenstein or his creation.
Thanks to David Kendall for help with this project.
