Arch
Mon 11 May 2015,

Starts The Wicked Lunch Co.

This walk begins on the Centre and then heads off to the Corn Exchange, taking in more of the merchant Old City as well as Greek Revival temples and a printing works with a stunning Art Nouveau façade. It will explore Castle Park, considering the current problem of one of Bristol’s major urban green spaces. The walk will also take in St John’s, the last survivor of the four parish churches originally set at gates over the city wall, and discuss the success of the restored Queen Square.

Tim Mowl will lead three walks featured in his new book, Bristol Explored – Twelve Architectural Walks. On each walk, Tim will explore various issues, both past and present, around the concept of a ‘green city’. He will show walkers a range of good, bad and ugly examples of how housing, roads, parks and street art can influence the culture and environment of a thriving city.
