A Sustainable West of England?

Metro Mayor Hustings

Tue 25 April 2017,

Protecting and enhancing our region’s environment and its sustainability is one of the greatest challenges we face, and potentially one of our greatest opportunities. In the future, regions that thrive are likely to be those that adapt to a low carbon, more efficient world.

To ensure environmental sustainability is high on the agenda of the new West of England metro mayor, Bristol Green Capital Partnership is hosting a ‘metro mayor’ hustings in the run-up to the election on Thursday 4 May.

This event will offer an opportunity to hear from the candidates on their environmental sustainability policies. The candidates confirmed to take part so far are:

Tim Bowles, Conservative Party
Aaron Foot, UK Independence Party
Darren Hall, Green Party
Lesley Mansell, Labour Party
John Savage, Independent
Stephen Williams, Liberal Democrat Party

The hustings will address four key theme areas: air quality, housing and the green belt, transport and future powers for the West of England.

Questions are being collected in advance of the event. Please submit your questions using the online form.
