Culture Flash Sale in Bristol and Bath

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Flash Sale. Our Flash Sale tickets are now sold out but there are still general tickets available for the events and other bargains to be found across the region.

Quick-fingered culture fans can save money with thousands of discounted tickets and offers in the Bristol and Bath 24-hour culture flash sale from 10am on Thursday 17 January.

From music, theatre, art and museum exhibitions to Planetarium shows and theatre classes, there are deals galore. Take a punt on something new, grab a bargain and kick off your year with a barrow-load of amazing culture.

Jo Dunkley, leading astrophysicist and award-winning champion of women in STEM, will be telling the remarkable, previously-overlooked stories of pioneering astronomers, such as Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin, who proposed a ground-breaking thesis for the composition of stars, Vera Rubin, who found that galaxies were clustered together in space rather than being scattered randomly, and Annie Jump Cannon who classified about 250,000 stars during her lifetime and developed the system of stellar classification still used today. She’ll be talking with us on Friday 1 February.

Emerging from a seven-year relationship in her mid-thirties, Kristen Roupenian thought she’d be much better at dating – she was older, wiser and boasted a finely tuned bullshit detector. Instead, a memorably bad encounter planted the seed for the story ‘Cat Person’, which became a viral sensation after being published by the New Yorker in December 2017. Join as one of the most talked-about new voices in American fiction with us on Wednesday 6 February.

With Spike Island, we are offering 2-for-1 tickets for events in the Novel Writers series. In Feburary, Yara Rodrigues Fowler talks about her debut novel Stubborn Archivist, which explores growing up between cultures, finding your space within them and learning to live in a traumatised body (Thursday 28 February, 18:30-19:30). In March, Alia Trabucco Zerán discusses The Remainder, in which three children of ex-militants count the cost of dictatorship and generational trauma (Thursday 7 March, 18:30-19:30).

Book online using the discount code flashsale or ring Spike Island on 0117 929 2266. Please note: If you wish to purchase 2-for-1 tickets across different Novel Writers events, please call Spike Island.
