A recent report by Compass has provided a new ranking for the world’s leading startup cities. The report is based on data from 11,000 global startup companies, as well as interviews with over 200 entrepreneurs worldwide, and ranks the world’s leading startup ecosystems on factors such as quality of talent, venture capital resources, experience and mentorship provided by startup founders, market reach, and the performance and exit value of companies.
According to the study, the top five global startup ecosystems in the world are:
1/ Silicon Valley
2/ New York City
3/ Los Angeles
5/ Tel Aviv
Other cities in the top 10 include London, Chicago, Seattle, Berlin and Singapore. Of the complete list of 20 leading cities, half are in the US and Canada, and 16 of the 20 are in North America and Europe.
